Erin has been teaching cello to students of all ages for over 20 years. Her training both as a musician and as a coach create a dynamic and nurturing environment for students. The focus in lessons is not only musical growth, but personal growth as well. Drawing from many methodologies, Erin is able to find the unique and most effective way to connect with each student. Students of all ages and skill levels are able to become successful cellists and life-long musicians. In her studio, Erin offers private and group lessons, chamber ensembles for both youth and adult students , master classes, and performance opportunities.

 

Being a native Calgarian, Erin has been involved in the music scene from a young age playing in many local bands and ensembles. She is often a session musician for artists of diverse genres and works as a clinician for training and educational seminars. Erin's experience ranges from being assistant principal cellist of the Calgary Civic Symphony to providing soundtrack on a film featured at the Toronto International Film Festival. Erin has studied music at the UofC and MRU Conservatory. She has her level three Suzuki Teacher Training from the Suzuki Association of the Americas, a diploma in early childhood education from Bow Valley College, and is a certified coach through the Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael California.

 

Music continues to be an integral part of Erin's life both professionally and personally. Her husband, Tom, is an accomplished guitarist and their house is always filled with music. Once their boys (Charlie 11yrs and Wesley 1.5yrs) have gone to bed, evenings often end with impromptu jam sessions.
